God is good and faithful all the time! I am excited to share our project with the main goal of facilitate heartfelt worship of Him in Brazil and throughout the world!
After my graduation at Law School, I realized that God had something else in store for my life. I had a dream to open a Music and Missions School in Brazil and after sharing with Earl Haubner, the president of Central Brazil Mission, he encouraged me to pursue this dream offering strong support and partnership. This School would prepare people to use their music skills for community service and ministry/evangelism in missions.
After a whirlwind of events, I was challenged to take a giant leap of faith and pursue a Master’s Degree in Divinity with a Music Ministry emphasis at Cincinnati Christian University. This Degree would take three years to complete, but it would be a major step toward establishing the school in Brazil which would ultimately train musicians and missionaries. During this time, God also gave me opportunities in mission trips to use music to witness to people in Albania, Italy, and the Amazon Rainforest of Brazil.
During these years, God continued to confirm His will for the future. I began to dream of bringing Americans back to Brazil with me to share their skills at this new school. In March of 2008, the Cincinnati Christian University Concert Choir, composed of 48 people (2 Brazilians, one German and 45 Americans) faced the challenge of ten concerts in twelve days, seven cities, and three states. They took six flights and rode on one huge bus to reach different destinations. The trip was life-changing for the whole choir and for the Brazilians. Some people from the choir came back to the United States with the dream of returning to Brazil to live and teach in the School of Ministry that I would open.
Very evident from our travels was the fact that music is a primary tool the Brazilian church uses for ministry and evangelism. Music and missions work well together. Worship is one of the evangelistic tools most frequently used and one of the most effective tools for the Brazilian culture. Brazilians are extremely passionate, expressive people and music communicates God’s truth to them in ways words cannot express. Unfortunately, music is an expensive tool to use. Public schools do not offer music as a part of the regular curriculum due to cost (instruments, music, and teachers). The cost of a music education remains high and schools are rare. A school offering music and ministry education is almost unheard of. In supporting my dream of opening the School of Ministry in Brazil, we can provide an affordable education for those hungry to be taught the skills to change the world and the future of ministry and worship. The School of Ministry will also provide a missions training curriculum preparing a new generation of missionaries in Brazil. This generation will be sent all over the world proclaiming the Gospel with their hearts passionate for God.
Please join us in this dream! Let God use your life to proclaim His Kingdom by supporting this project. You are investing in a new generation of missionaries and worshippers that will proclaim salvation in Christ throughout the world.
Much love,
Rafael Soares
